Stage Lighting

Creative lighting is an absolutely essential part of staging a show and the same is true for those productions staged at the
Miniature Opera. Moreover, as I have worked both as a lighting designer and a theatre electrician in the West End, I am particularly concerned that the model be equipped with an up-to-date lighting rig that is just as good as any full-scale professional installation.

The planned rig currently consists of the following:

120 tungsten house lights in red shaded sconces and 60 down-lighters set into the ceilings beneath the tiers.

22 fully focusable front-of-house spotlights, some with shutters, all with colour frames positioned in the boxes across three levels.

64 fully focusable lanterns onstage with barn-doors and colour frames positioned on the combined rig of portal towers, lighting bridges, bars, trusses and ladders.

5 RGB battens and 3 RGB ground rows for lighting cloths and cyclorama.

Each of the above lanterns will be assigned an independent dimmer channel which is controlled by DMX programmed on the show controller.
