Project Leader and Creative Director

Over the past thirty-five years Peter Litten has worked in many aspects of the entertainment industry - including theatre, film and television. Having trained both as an actor and a theatre designer he worked first on the original ‘Rocky Horror Show’ before studying special effects make-up and animatronics - creating magic for notable productions such as ‘The Elephant Man’, ‘Quest for Fire’ and the original ‘Star Wars’ film.
After a spell as a visual effects designer at the BBC he set up Coast to Coast Productions to provide special effects to numerous well-known TV shows including ‘The Young Ones’, ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘The Two Ronnies’. One of his most notable achievements during the eighties was the creation of the internationally acclaimed icon ‘Max Headroom’, who became a world phenomenon and multiple BAFTA award winner.
Also during this time he began directing second unit on films, ultimately leading him to direct three features in his own right including ‘To Die For’ which received both international acclaim and an equal share of criticism!
In 1996 Peter Litten co-founded Cheerful Scout and has since focussed on creating films and onscreen content for the commercial sector, winning numerous international awards for his extensive work for many blue-chip corporations and earning a reputation for brilliantly designed and executed programmes.
A life-life long ambition ever since his uncle made him the most wonderful theatre as a child, the Miniature Opera is both his brainchild and his passion - and hopefully a testament to his enthusiasm for theatrical innovation and spectacle.
